US halts solar energy projects over environmental fears

"The US government is putting a hold on new solar energy projects on public land for two years so it can study the environmental impact of sun-driven plants." (Full Story: Telegraph)

The US will never develop an alternative to oil with a mentality like this.

Be quiet: the surveillance cameras might hear you

"Researchers from the University of Portsmouth in the UK are working on refining AI software that currently allows the cameras to identify visual patterns associated with law-breaking. The plan is to add an audio capability, so that the noise of breaking glass (for example) would cause the camera to take notice and alert an operator...Later versions will get cleverer as time goes on, perhaps eventually being able to identify specific words being said or violent sounds." Ars Technica

It's like humanity is a crowd of brainwashed zombies sleepwalking their way to a totalitarian state. This is EXACTLY like the world from George Orwell's 1984. Does anyone care? I forgot, no one bothers to even read anymore, so how would anyone recognize the parallels to 1984 much less understand the implications on our society. I feel sorry for people to lazy or stupid to actually understand a reality beyond the mind-numbing thought control of the mainstream media.

As the recently deceased George Carlin stated: Those in power want "obedient workers, people that are just smart enough to run the machines and do the paperwork...they tell you what to believe, what to think and what to buy. The table is tilted, the game is rigged and nobody seems to notice and nobody seems to care..."

So all the zombies will keep on believing that Osama Bin Laden is still alive and is out to get them, and that they still have any civil liberties left to protect. It might be funny if it weren't so pathetic.

[Edit: George Carlin Cip below contains profanity]

Forgetmenot Pond

Central Church went out to Forgetmenot Pond for vespers last night and I had no idea such a nice place existed so close to Calgary, just beyond Elbow Falls. Great place for a picnic and short hike.

Emerald Lake

Last week I attended a company retreat at Emerald Lake B.C. with Patricia. Emerald Lake is a about a half hour from Lake Louise and was really pretty as you can see from the pics. We had a nice relaxing time and even did a little work.
